What is the Wellness Collective?

This year’s Peace of Mind event has exciting opportunities to learn and experience new healing methods in our “Wellness Collective”. Massage, reiki and acupuncture all promote healing through physical touch practices that serve to relax our minds and aid in the physical healing of our bodies. These practices also offer a relaxing complement our yoga practice to elevate your Peace of Mind experience.

In our wellness collective room, we will have stations for chair massage, acupuncture and reiki. Our massage section will be staffed by the Finger Lakes School of Massage students to help you relax and work out any muscle tightness you may have noticed during yoga. Ithaca Community Acupuncture founders and practitioners, Tim and Colleen Foley, will offer chair acupuncture and provide focused acupuncture on your body’s achy spots, and show you how acupuncture can also support healing from past traumatic life events. Local reiki practitioners will help channel and move energy also through touch, to activate the natural healing process and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Sounds great! How do I sign up?

Just go ahead and register for the “Wellness Collective” for the session of your choosing. Registering for the Wellness Collective saves your spot for one 10-15 minutes session with one of our practitioners. We’ll be in touch after you complete your registration to take you through the rest of the registration and reserve your spot in massage, acupuncture or reiki.

Wait, the wellness collective is a 15-minute session...what do I do while I wait for my next yoga breakout session?

Relax, take stock of what your body needs or how your thoughts have evolved while receiving your treatment. Make sure to re-hydrate and enjoy the snacks and refreshments available at the event. Connect with others and grow your wellness support team. Healing practices are an essential part of achieving optimal mental health and well-being – so is developing connections with like-minded people. These are the connections we all need in our lives when stress takes over and we lose sight of our health and wellness practices.
