Peace of Mind YOGATHON
What is it?
The Peace of Mind Yogathon is a morning of yoga classes, workshops and group meditation. Sign-in for the 2017 event starts at 8:45am. There are three consecutive sessions of yoga at the event. The first yoga session is from 9:15-10:15am. There will be a short break and the second session is from 10:30-11:30am. After another short break, the event concludes with the third yoga session from 11:45am-12:45pm.
Why Host one?
Too many members of our community struggle with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. The approach to mental health wellness is as individual as those that it affects. Yoga is low-risk and high-reward, a strong complement to other practices such as counseling, mindfulness meditation, and psychotherapy.
So why not bridge the gap between what we do and how we raise money to do what we do? With the inauguration of the Peace of Mind Yogathon in 2015, we provided an event that brought the community together around a common goal – to provide mental health services to everyone who needs help. Hopefully in the process, we’ll also be able to introduce this valuable therapeutic technique to members of the community who otherwise might not discover its valuable benefits.
The Peace of Mind Yogathon is a fun, energizing, educational community event that supports the mental health needs of our community! It's a win-win!
All proceeds from the event support Family & Children's Service. To learn more about the important services that F&CS provides to the community, click here.
Registration includes a full morning of yoga, refreshments and a free day pass to Rasa Spa. Because we feel passionately about creating a community event, we offer discounts to students, seniors and groups.
